2.1 Personal Pronouns in Hebrew

Introduction

2.3 HOW TO USE THEM

I am a student.

She is a doctor (female).
הִיא רוֹפְאָה .
Hee rofah.

2.4 Verb to Be

The Verb to be is written like this: (Lihiot) - לִהְיוֹת.

Examples:

I am happy.

   . - אֲנִי שָׂמֵחַ                     Ani same'ach, (male)

   . - אֲנִי שְׂמֵחָה                  (Ani smechah, (female)

2.5 Sentence structure

Subject + verb to be (absent in the present tense) + adjetive.

We are students.

 - אֲנַחְנוּ תַּלְמִידִים   (Anachnu talmidim)

Pronoun + verb to be + noun.

They are teachers.

 .  - הֵם מוֹרִים                                   (Hem morim)

Complete the following sentences with the appropriate Hebrew pronoun.

אני am at home (in the house). אֲנִי בַּבַּיִת (Anee babayit) ________________________
